Body in spruce and Brazilian rosewood (Dalbergia nigra). Neck in mahogany with inlays of maple and ebony. Fingerboard in ebony. Bridge and soundhole rosette in rosewood. Strung with nylon. Labelled "Franz Mettal, guitar maker, Luby near Cheb 1959". Nut measures 5 cm. 12th fret 6 cm. Length 105, width 37, height 9.5 cm. Hard case included.
Age-related wear, marks, the binding has loosened in some places. Not fully examined.

Josef Holeček (1939–2025) was a Czech-Swedish guitarist, professor, and composer active in Gothenburg. He gave solo concerts in several countries across Europe as well as in the USA and Australia. He has participated in several recordings such as Britten / Castelnuovo-Tedesco (1976), Romantic Guitar Music (1982/1995),
Franz Mettal was a highly regarded German-Czech guitar maker active in the mid-20th century. He belonged to a renowned family of instrument makers from the town of Luby (formerly Schönbach) in present-day Czech Republic. As a master builder, he crafted exclusive guitars of the highest quality, reserved for the era's leading professional musicians.
