Islamic Works of Art and Oriental Carpets – Spring edition

Islamic Works of Art and Oriental Carpets – Spring Edition presents a carefully curated selection of antique oriental carpets, historic textiles, silver and ceramics. The auction brings together works from prominent Nordic collections and reflects the rich craft traditions of the Islamic world and the great weaving regions.

Highlights include a number of high-quality carpets with strong provenance, as well as pieces from the collection of Sonny Bentsson, including a beautiful fragment from an 18th-century carpet. The sale also features a handwritten Qur’an dating to the 16th century, an important example of the Islamic manuscript tradition. Together the works form a focused auction centred on quality, history and collecting.
