Johan Möller belonged to the group of senior pewter experts who helped increase public interest in our beautiful pewter objects. During his lifetime, he was a frequently consulted expert, sought after by both institutions and auction houses. In 1967, he published "Tennsamlarens uppslagsbok" (The Pewter Collector’s Reference Book), a pocket-sized directory of pewter founders, which also described and explained the makers’ hallmarks.
This auction contains a selection of items from Johan Möller’s private collection. Highlights include a royal dish from Strömsholm, several rare tankards, butter boxes, Rococo dishes, as well as an unusual wall salt cellar made by Daniel Björkman in Stockholm in 1730.
