GUNNAR ERIKSSON’S TRAIN COLLECTION

GUNNAR ERIKSSON’S TRAIN COLLECTION
Architect and railway enthusiast Gunnar Eriksson was a well-known figure within the live steam hobby arena. He lived outside Karlstad and had become fascinated by steam locomotives at an early age. He wanted to become a train driver, but later became an architect. In his garden Eriksson built a train track on a 3.5 inch scale with a 9 cm gauge. He ran the locomotives and carriages he built himself on it. This auction includes a number of his models: steam locomotives, electric locomotives, goods carriages, passenger carriages, etc. Several carriages are furnished – in the restaurant car, the tables are laid and in one window you can even see a scale model of a cornflakes packet!
