Samling Sven Ljungberg

COLLECTION SVEN LJUNGBERG
Sven Ljungberg (1913-2010) was a generation younger than the Smedsudden circle of artists, which included names such as Axel Nilsson, Eric Hallström, Hilding Linnqvist and Gideon Börje. The artists who frequented and painted at Sjövillan on Smedsudden were bold individualists who were keen to go their own way. One thing they all had in common was that they often chose a smaller format for their narrative painting, producing delicate tonal images in which no detail was overlooked. The fact that these artists – as well as international names such as Picasso, Miró and Chagall – meant a great deal to Sven Ljungberg is evident in both his art and his collection.
