Outsider Art by Kosti Ahonen

Bukowskis is pleased to present a selection of mystical and powerful artworks by the legendary Kosti Ahonen (1920-2003). Even though his artworks are often categorised as outsider art he was, in fact, a trained artist; he studied at Lahden Taideyhdistys from 1949–1954 and held his first exhibition already in 1950. His humorous and recognizable artworks incorporate characteristics of naïve and informal art. This theme auction presents a selection of highly personal artworks that reflect Ahonen’s close relationship to nature, family and religion.
