Toini Kallio (1891–1981) was a Finnish textile artist best known for her high-quality flatweaves designed in the 1930s. In 1923, she founded her studio, Toini Kallion Koristetaidetoimisto (Toini Kallio's Decorative Art Studio), one of the earliest Finnish art weaving studios. Rugs designed by Kallio were produced by, among others, Aaltosen Mattokutomo in Kiikka. Her work combined traditional Finnish craftsmanship with modern design language. Although Toini Kallio’s weaving studio did not continue after her time, her influence can still be seen in Finnish textile art. Her work has inspired many later artists, and her legacy lives on in Finnish design.
