Eero Rislakki (1924-2017) was a veratile designer and was a designer for Kelvala koru from 1951 to 1956. He began by designing jewellery modelled upon ancient bronze jewellery for the company but proceeded to develope a modern idiom form jewellery with gemstones.
Rislakki's vision was to simplify Kalevala koru's idiom and to implement modern jewellery to their production. The jewellery with gemstones that Rislakki designed were groundbraking since the stones used were Finnish. Rislakki was one of the pioneers in using Finnish gemstones in jewellery design. During the 1950's Kalevala koru released a new jewellery every year with a new kind of gemstone every time.
In 1995 Rislakki was appointed honorary member of Teolliset Muotoilija TKO and in 2005 he was granted the Pro Finlandia medal.
