Roland Svensson – Archipelago painter

Roland Svensson, one of Sweden’s most appreciated portrayals of the Stockholm archipelago, depicted the environment with its nature, wildlife and people. His work is characterized by a strong sense of reality with a special interest in the life and surroundings of the fishermen. During more than 60 years active as an artist, Svensson was a unique depicter of the outer sea band in the Stockholm archipelago in both painting and printmaking and also as an author.
