The cup belongs to the so-called Golden dinner service, which was designed by sculptor S. Pimenov for the Imperial Palace Gatchina, located near St. Petersburg. The service was made in 1828 by theThe Imperial Porcelain Manufactory in St.Petersburg. The dinner service was the last gift Maria Feodorovna received before she died that same year.
