Bid on timeless and sought-after design objects
Bukowskis presents the online only auction Design Sale Helsinki. The sale features almost 300 sought-after design objects by Finnish and international designers. Highlights include a colourful selection of ceramics by Birger Kaipiainen, sought-after furniture by Alvar Aalto, a selection of timeless lightings by Paavo Tynell and beautiful silver objects byTapio Wirkkala.
The top lots of the auction are two rare High Back 12 armchairs by Alvar Aalto. The armchair was only produced between 1932-34. The construction required a particular mould to make the seat, as it had to be bent in several directions. Because of the challenging production method, the production volume was low and today, only a few of them have been recovered.
