Contemporary Design Online

Welcome to the themed spring auction of contemporary design, where we invite you to explore an exciting selection of furniture and works of art. As a response to modernism, design in the late 20th century took a more individualistic and playful direction. Materials, construction, form, and colour were no longer bound by formal structures and traditions. This culminated in the postmodern movement of the 1980s, led by the Italian design collective the Memphis Group—a style that still resonates today.

In our auction the Memphis Group is represented by Michele De Lucchi with the side table "Flamingo", a playful exploration of form and colour. From Italy, we also present Piero Fornasetti’s table "Ultime Notizie", a 2019 edition, as well as the "Soriana" sofa, designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa in 1970. The auction also includes Sweden’s own Fredrik Paulsen, represented by four custom-made "Chair One" chairs from 2022.
