Zheng Lianjie (b. 7 August 1962) is a Chinese contemporary artist working across performance art, installation, photography, contemporary ink, and video. He is widely regarded as a representative figure in Chinese contemporary art. Belonging to a generation shaped by the Cultural Revolution, Zheng emerged in the 1980s as part of a major shift in China’s art scene. Moving beyond traditional painting, he embraced new practices, contributing to the transformation of contemporary artistic expression in China.
