Case no. 683
Movement not tested. Wear due to age and use.
Swatch was officially launched on March 1, 1983, in Zurich, Switzerland, with an initial collection of twelve models. This example bears the case marking 683, indicating June 1983, just three months after the brand's official launch.
The so-called Fachhandelslogo (FHL) is a stylized watch symbol representing Swiss watchmakers and specialist watch retailers. The logo was used to distinguish Swatch watches sold through traditional specialist retailers from those distributed through other channels, such as department stores. In 1983, the symbol appeared directly on the dial, while later versions featured the logo on the strap instead.
According to the collector's website Stay Tuned to Swatch, a total of 13 different models were produced with the FHL logo on the dial, reportedly limited to 2,000 examples per model. These early dial variants are particularly sought after by Swatch collectors today.
