"Thinking small"
Styrofoam, 70 x 70 x 70 cm, executed in 2011. Unique.
Tommy Støckel is Danish by lives and works in Berlin. His vibrant, geometrical sculptures mix craftsmanship and science, speculation and optical illusions. Most of the materials he uses can be bought in a stationery or hobby shop: paper, cardboard, Styrofoam and glue are combined with striking attention to detail. The sculptures reflect on issues such as how modernism would have been influenced by today's mathematics and computer-generated realities.
