A famille rose 'du paquier' butter tureen with cover, Qing dynasty, Qianlong (1736-95).
Decorated with three herons in a garden next to a European castle. A fourth flying heron overhangs the scene. The sides are flanked by two molded shaped side sockets, each surmounted by a high feathered headdress. Length 17,5 cm.
Wear, chip, minor firingcracks.
