More information

The architects Erik and Tore Ahlsén, mainly known for Årsta Centrum in Stockholm, also designed furniture and interiors. The luminaire "Pia lamp" was designed around 1940. The unusual floor model which, due to its characteristic profile, was named "Napoleon by the Nile" was manufactured in the 1940s in a small edition with a cast bronze base. The model was originally designed by Tore Ahlsén for KF. NK (Nordiska Kompaniet) took over the model when KF reportedly considered that the production costs were too high. Gärsnäs has been manufacturing the floor lamp since the 1970s, but now with a black cast iron base.
