Utbildad Gerlesborgsskolan 1977-1981, Kungl. Konsthögskolan 1982-1987. Martin Wickströms äldre produktion bygger ofta på en 90-talsestetik med realistiska detaljer ur stadsbilden, som återkallar en svunnen folkhemsidyll. Wikströms senare verk är poetiska reflektioner ur världens mindre poetiska händelser och han rör sig hemtant i färgstarka realistiska landskap.
