Prince Eugen commissioned architect Ferdinand Boberg to design a permanent residence for himself at Waldemarsudde, Djurgården. In 1905, the main building was completed, and the prince filled the home with artworks by primarily Swedish artists. The location became a beloved motif when the prince himself put his brushes to a canvas or a panel. He often captured the view towards the water and the city's silhouette, or as here - a typical winter landscape with expressive trees in focus.
