The sculptor Veikko Keränen was born in Finland in 1935 and came to Sweden as a war child in 1944. He studied at the Royal Institute of Art from 1962 to 1967 and is well represented in Sweden, including around thirty public works primarily in Stockholm and Västerås, such as “Billie on my mind” in Sätra and at the Karolinska University Hospital. He is best known for his beloved sculptures in polished bronze, which have often been compared to the sculptures of Christian Berg.
