Martin Kozlowski (born 1984 in Stockholm) is a Swedish artist working primarily in painting. He studied at Goldsmiths, University of London and at Städelschule in Frankfurt.
Kozlowski’s painting operates in the intersection between digital image processing and painting. Using acrylic and spray paint, he builds his works in multiple layers where soft color transitions are interrupted by lines and forms. The working process is central to his practice, and many works are titled after the date on which they were completed, such as the present lot “28.02.17.01.”
His work has been exhibited internationally, including in Stockholm, Berlin, London, and Frankfurt, and he has held solo exhibitions at Galerie Wilma Tolksdorf in Frankfurt and AnnaElle Gallery in Stockholm. And last year at Galleri Flach. In 2018 he was awarded the Vera and Göran Agnekil Scholarship from the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts.
