With the series "Monochrome Colour Noise," exhibited at Christian Larsen in 2009, Mads Gamdrup took a radical new direction in his artistic practice. The works were the result of a multi-year study of scientific material as well as collaboration with researchers. He employs a specific technique called "Monochrome Color Noise" where the resonance of colours is manipulated to create degrees of transparency. He uses this technique to artistically explore concepts such as distance, transparency, spirituality, and materiality.
