More information

Max Papart was a French artist, printmaker, and illustrator, born in Marseille. He developed a distinctive visual language influenced by Cubism, collage, and twentieth-century abstraction. Papart worked in painting and printmaking, frequently experimenting with different techniques, materials, and textures. His compositions often feature stylized human figures, musical instruments, birds, and other everyday motifs, constructed from geometric forms and decorative fields of color. Throughout his career, Papart exhibited internationally and became particularly recognized for his graphic works. His art combines a playful expression with a carefully considered balance between figurative and abstract elements.
