LITTLE LIFFNER x EVELINA KROON at Bukowskis

Evelina Kroon

Artist

Do you remember your first artistic experience or when you started making art?
I went to the Modern Museum Painting School when I was in middle age and have strong memories from there. It was so powerful to be, as I remember, in the premises when it was completely empty of people. If I were to ask my 9-year-old I also started creating art somewhere there. This is of course a question of definition, but I've always had a fallout for drawing, colour compositions and creative creation.

Can you tell us what we will see at Bukowskis in your collaboration with Little Liffner, who’s presentation is held during Stockholm's fashion week?
You will see Paulina's collection along with my works in an unexpected, colourful and playful yet stylish installation that really takes care of you. Every empty space is filled, it will be a maxed-out experience.

How did the creative process come about in your collaboration with Paulina Liffner, designer and founder of Little Liffner?
We've met and talked about what we like and what inspires us. And what we want the exhibition to communicate. After that we have developed a colour palette and outlined the exhibition rooms together. Paulina has worked with her collection in parallel with the construction of the paintings and the rooms, which serves as a kind of scenography for the bags. Our work together creates something new that just marries so good! A great fun and rewarding collaboration. We tend to like about exactly the same colours, materials, things. It will be reflected in what you will see.

During the exhibition there is also the opportunity to buy the works shown, can you tell me about these?
I love tape, collect tape and make my own tape why it was natural for me to work with tape as the only material and limitation. To this exhibition, I have developed 40 unique and numbered works consisting of intuitively designed patterns. It's the biggest series I've done so far, and I have not decided how big it will be.

Who hope you will visit the exhibition?
Everyone, seriously.

Installation open 29 August –1 September at Bukowskis, Berzelii Park 1 in Stockholm.
Opening hours: Wednesday 1–5 PM, Thursday–Friday 11 AM–5 PM, Saturday 12 AM – 4 PM.
