Lacquered bamboo. U-shaped bamboo crestrail continuing to form the arms, supported by slender bamboo sideposts. The softwood seat above an apron of three bamboo leg-encircling stretchers, supported on legs joined at the hexagonal base. Height 87, seat height 48 cm.

Provenance

From the Collection of Ove Christian Lunn, Danish Diplomat and Consul General for Denmark in Shanghai 1928-1935. Lunn had an exciting diplomatic career and was posted 1910-18 in Oslo, 1918-24 in San Francisco, 1924-28 Melbourne and then finally Shanghai 1928-35. Thence by descent within the familiy.
