LITTLE LIFFNER x EVELINA KROON at Bukowskis
Curated art and fashion installation
Installation open 29 August –1 September at Bukowskis, Berzelii Park 1 in Stockholm.
Opening hours: Wednesday 1–5 PM, Thursday–Friday 11 AM–5 PM, Saturday 12 AM – 4 PM.
For its first ever fashion week presentation Little Liffner has teamed up with artist Evelina Kroon to create an immersive physical manifestation of what #littleliffnerloves
In a visual feast to perk up the senses Kroon’s colouring and signature stripes boldly claims the space and evokes questions around the themes of who has the right to take over a room and the ways our surroundings directly affect the human mind and body.
An army of Kroon’s Tape paintings simultaneously make a case for collectivism and individuality while serving as a juxtaposing contemporary back drop for a collection infused with sun warm tones and vintage connotations.
Little Liffner is a Stockholm based accessories brand, quietly building a loyal following since its launch 2012. The brand aims to create refined handbags with street smart appeal for smart girls who want’s it all and therefore choose carefully.
For the Spring Summer 2019 collection, titled Going Places designer Paulina Liffner von Sydow draws inspiration from old school leisure resorts built for doing nothing in a time where everyone feels the need to do everything all the time. Escapism, Palm Springs interiors, 50’s style and 80’s attitude are other inspirations.
Evelina Kroon is a cross-disciplinary creative within the fields of painting, colouring and set-design, exploring the borders between fine and decorative arts. She entertains a sort of horror vacui by taking over rooms with her taping and painting –a graphic yet eclectic aesthetic that brings traditionally female crafts to mind.
She was educated at Konstfack and lives and works in Stockholm, Sweden. Among her heroes are her grandmother, Louise Bourgeois, Yoko Ono and Hilma af Klint.
The artworks in the installation are available for sale.
