Great demand for Finnish design – Helsinki Design Sale achieves strong final prices

Bukowskis’ Helsinki Design Sale on June 13th presented an impressive array of design object and jewellery by sought-after designers. The auction attracted bidders from all around the world and the results show that there is a significant demand for Finnish modern design.

The top lot of the evening was a beautiful silver cutlery set by Georg Jensen that reached a final price of 10 542 €. Additional top lots included a selection of sought-after lamps by Paavo Tynell and Alvar Aalto and unique ceramic objects by Birger Kaipiainen and Rut Bryk. Paavo Tynell's timeless table lamp was sold for 7 845 € and Birger Kaipiainen's unique ceramic dish achieved a final price of 7 7 83 €. There was also a strong interest in modern jewellery and the department achieved an amazing sell-through rate of 93 %. The highlight of the department was Björn Weckström's bracelet that reached a final price of 2 455 €.
