Important Winter Sale – Day one

A strong first day at this season’s final Live auction

Bukowskis’ Important Winter Sale – the first day of the auction included high-quality objects of royal provenance and fascinating histories. Among the many highlights of the evening was a Boucheron tiara characterized by flying platinum and diamond dragonflies, beautiful silver items and a Gustavian chandelier.

The auction continues on Thursday, December 8th, with the art department, followed by the Asian Sale on Friday, December 9th. See the Art and Asian Ceramics and works of art catalogues here.

Silver tureen with lid Daniel Lundgren

When a piece of silver of this importance reaches the market, collectors line up for an opportunity to acquire a historical piece. A magnificent terrine where the softly shaped smooth surfaces contrast with richly decorated details. Originally part of a pair where the other is included in the collections at Stockholm Palace.

A Swedish late 18th century Gustavian eight-light chandelier

It’s fantastic to sell a chandelier of the absolute highest quality, where the provenance and history can be followed all the way. The famous ”Österbykrona” had everything collectors and clients are looking for.

Lotto, A west Anatolian rug, 17th century

During this auction, we have presented a wide palette with everything from our Scandinavian textile treasures to Anatolia's most requested carpets, the so-called 'Lotto' carpets. The range of the rugs in today's action is just what customers are looking for at the moment, which is evident when looking at the results and the final prices

Tiara, “Boucheron”

The bids flew through the air like the dragonflies of the tiara! Finding one of these mythical belle époque pieces from the early 20th century is rare, and it was an unforgettable auction.

Carl Barkman, Chefsspecialist Fine Art och antikviteter
