This October, Jonatan Leandoer Håstad, the internationally recognized artist and musician known as Yung Lean, will make his debut on the international auction market in an exclusive collaboration with renowned auction house Bukowskis.
Bukowskis will present a selection of works titled Jonatan Leandoer Håstad, Selected Works, curated by Håstad himself, in an online auction. The auction marks the first time Håstad’s visual art will be offered for sale, bringing his work to an international audience of collectors and marking his first entry into the art market through an auction house.
The auction presents nine sculptures and three paintings, all included in Jonatan Leandoer Håstad’s first-ever public exhibition, Collected Works 2016–2026, on view in Stockholm until October 11.
Rather than functioning as an extension of his music, Håstad’s visual practice is an independent body of work with its own visual language, recurring imagery and internal logic. Entirely self-taught; figures, landscapes and symbolic motifs recur across different media, creating unexpected connections between works made 2022-2026. Håstad's practice spans across painting, sculpture, collage, ceramics and moving image.
“Ever since I can remember, I dreamed of colors. I've made wooden sculptures, drawings and paintings since I was a kid. Just like my songs, the work is made through a stream of consciousness. I go where the hand takes me. My paintings mean nothing and also everything. Here they are.” – Jonatan Leandoer Håstad
