Bukowskis – The leading auction house in the Nordic region 2024
Souza – the highest-selling artwork of the spring, sold for 16.5 million SEK
Bukowskis has achieved 38 sales above one million SEK and several new world records this spring – by far the most on the Nordic auction market. In 2024, we have so far sold art, antiques, works of art, design, watches, and jewellery at live auctions for 255 million SEK, including the highest-selling artwork of the spring, painted by Francis Newton Souza.
The season has seen high prices for works by Anders Zorn, Carl Larsson, Helene Schjerfbeck, Tove Jansson, Nils Dardel, Alex Katz, David Hockney, and GAN. In design and works of art, we have witnessed new records, including a world record for Josef Frank's bureau "Flora". Additionally, high final prices have been achieved for a pair of corner cabinets by Gottlieb Iwersson, a chandelier by Carl Edberg, and a magnificent cabinet with animal and plant illustrations by Josef Frank.
