Torreby slott, vackert beläget vid Gullmarsfjorden, uppfördes år 1887 på beställning av Niels Georg Sörensen. Sörensen, som tjänat ihop en förmögenhet på att exportera trä till Spanien, kom varje år i maj månad, till Munkedals station med sin familj för att stanna på Torreby till september. Bland slottets mer namnkunniga gäster återfinns såväl Greta Garbo som medlemmar ur både Sveriges och Monacos kungafamiljer. Sedan år 1961 ligger Torrebys golfklubb på ägorna.
