Watercolours by Peter Eugén II

This is our second theme sale of Peter Eugén watercolours. He (born 1978) is a self-taught artist from Sundsvall who has been based in Stockholm since 2007. His aim is to tell stories through his subjects and to create art that evokes emotions and leaves a lasting impression. Eugén began his career as a landscape painter but has also worked in genres such as portraiture and pop art, where he depicts strong personalities and contemporary icons. In 2014, he began working with watercolour, a medium that quickly became an important part of his artistic practice. His watercolours are inspired by the landscapes of northern Sweden where he grew up, and they convey the drama, light and tranquillity of nature. Atmospheric cityscapes are also among his most popular works. His passion for art was sparked when, at the age of six, he stepped into his grandfather’s (Sven Eugén) studio. He was captivated by the atmosphere. The tranquillity. The smell. The solitude. At that moment, Peter Eugén knew what he wanted to be, and he never let go of that dream.

With over 70 exhibitions in Sweden and internationally, Peter Eugén is now an established artist.
