First edition of J. Berggren’s 3-volume account of his travels in Egypt, Syria and Palestine in 1820-22. With folding map of Syria (with a short closed marginal tear, affecting only engraved frame of map), a map of the Bosphorus, a plan of Jerusalem and 5 folding plates with the text of Greek and Roman inscriptions. Bound by P. G. Dahlbom, Uppsala (printed labels to rear pastedowns), somewhat worn. Contemporary ownership stamp to titles of J: Strokirk and two later bookplates.
