Bukowskis has been entrusted with selling a collection of just over 60 pieces (paintings, drawings and graphic art) by the artist Olle Nyman. The collection comes from gallerist Alf Holm, who from 1969 until 2012 ran the legendary Galerie Holm in Gamla Väster, Malmö.
Olle Nyman wanted to bring together art and architecture. The architecture and composition in his own home and studio Nedre and Övre gården in Saltsjö Duvnäs outside Stockholm were a huge source of inspiration and are recurring themes in his art. In his still life, landscapes and figures he built up compositions in muted, earthy colours.
Alongside his painting and graphic art, Olle Nyman worked with sculptures made from potsherds, stone fragments and crushed porcelain bonded with cement. He used this scrap material to breathe life into these three-dimensional figures.
