Knut Janson var medlem av gruppen "De unga" från bildandet 1907. Han debuterade på "De ungas" debututställning i Stockholm 1909 och deltog även i gruppens övriga utställningar 1910-1911. Han fick i dagspressen fin respons på sina färgstarka och dekorativa landskapsmålningar.
