Målad under Palms vistelse i Venedig 1840-1841 under sin resa från Venedig till Rom.
Palm utförde några målningar med motiv från Lago di Como och Lago Maggiore våren 1841. Enligt Palms egna anteckningar sålde han dem till en engelsman, Mr Thomson.
