Den kinesiska skådespelaren Ziyi Zhang spelade huvudrollen i filmen "Memoirs of a Geisha" som hade premiär på The Kodak Theatre i Hollywood, Los Angeles, den 4 december 2005. Filmen baseras på Arthur Goldens välkända roman med samma namn. Det vackra porträttet taget av Albert Watson användes som filmaffisch. Filmen nominerades till hela sex Academy Awards (Oscars) och tog slutligen hem tre av dem.
