"Dansande fetisch", "Monument över Yxman", "Hästtämjaren" och "Fången" hör till de "idoler" han nu skapar. "Fetischen" är således en extatisk fallosgudomlighet, som lånat sin karaktär från en afrikansk spikfetisch. Det nya -grateska - är här främst det självuppgivande draget, dansen, som ju är ett ständigt lika aktuellt motiv för konstnären, och som här står i stark kontrast mot de primitiva, fetischernas statuariska stående.
