An insigia badge for a fifth rank military official, Buzi, 19th Century.

Worked in the classical Qianlongstyle with a central animal in a cosmic landscape, surrounded by ruyi shaped clouds, bats, peaches, peonies and crashing waves. Framed in a diaper patterin border with goldthread. Measurement 30x30 cm.

Some wear, dirty, minor stains, damages.

Provenance

Insignias for military staff are more rare than the civil ones, presumably because the civil beuraucracy was so much larger.
