EMBROIDERED HANDBAG, height ca 14 cm, width ca 26,5 cm, designed and embroidered by Anna Casparsson.

Red velvet with polychrome silk embroideries of flowers with sequins as well as patterns in metal threads with glass stones. A metal bracket. Inside a yellow silk lining and embroideries.

Some wear, slightly dirty.

Anna Casparsson's textile works are rare at auctions. Born in 1861 she made her debut as an artist as late as 1945 and became very admired for her originality. In 1960 the Moderna museum in Stockholm har a separate exhibition with her works. Casparsson experimented with different material in her embroideries and applications as laces, buttons, glass beads and sequins.
