Modern Art + Design 616

Bukowskis is the leading auction house in the Nordic region with high-class hammer auctions as a focus area. The auction house was founded in 1870 and has since the start conducted hundreds of auctions of classic art, craft and design, furniture and entire collections.

Now, more than ever, the interest in modern art and design is on the rise. In this auction you’ll discover unique highlights from one of our most important eras in art and crafts history, among many, a newly discovered art work by Gösta Adrian-Nilsson and masterpieces by Isaac Grünewald, Leander Engström, Nils von Dardel, Paul Klee and many more. Another highlight in the auction is an avant-garde collection with works dating from the early 30s including works by Agnes Cleve, Erik Olson and Fernand Léger.

Included in the Design department is a section dedicated to Swedish modern with unique pieces by Bruno Mathsson, a “Flora” cabinet by Josef Frank/Svenskt Tenn and cabinets by Otto Schulz as well as exquisite rugs by Märta Måås-Fjetterström, whose studio celebrates 100 years this year. You’ll find this, and much more, in one of Bukowskis most exclusive auctions ever.
