Literature

The Rolex Day-Date reference 1803 is an iconic watch that has become synonymous with luxury and status. Introduced in 1956, the Day-Date was the first watch to display the date and day of the week in full, spelled out on the dial. The reference 1803 was produced for over 20 years until it was discontinued in the mid-1970s.

The Day-Date was an important innovation for Rolex, as it was the first watch to combine a date display with an automatically changing day display, both shown on the dial. This watch featured the signature President bracelet, which was exclusively made for the Day-Date.
