A ring in 18K gold set with an old-cut diamond
Ca 0.75 ct, as well as rose-cut diamonds, width ca 3 - 7.5 mm, size 58, total weight 7 g. PFP (Pehr Fredrik Palmgren), Stockholm 1854.
Provenance
According to provenance information, the ring was commissioned by a director of Bolinders Mekaniska Verkstad (Bolinder Mechanical Works) in Stockholm. Following an industrial accident in which a small metal fragment became lodged in his eye, the fragment was surgically removed and subsequently set, together with several diamonds, into a gold ring by a jeweller.
