More information

The emerald cut is a step-cut diamond shape characterized by its rectangular outline and beveled corners. Unlike brilliant cuts, which maximize scintillation, the emerald cut emphasizes clarity and the stone’s internal structure through parallel, linear facets arranged in a stair-like pattern. Typically composed of 57 or 58 facets, this cut originated from techniques used for shaping emeralds, hence its name. The large, open table of the emerald cut highlights both the transparency and any inclusions within the diamond, making material quality and precision of symmetry particularly important for its aesthetic appeal.
