The overall impression is good, the watch is in good neo-vintage condition with traces of use. Crisp hallmarks. A screw is missing to attach the strap, but it's functional.
A simple function check indicated the movement runs; accuracy, power reserve and long-term performance have not been tested and servicing may be required at the buyer’s expense. Pictures of the movement are available upon request. Water resistance cannot be guaranteed and should be checked by a qualified watchmaker before any exposure to water. No right of withdrawal applies to live auction purchases.
Disco Volante is an Italian phrase meaning "flying saucer" or "flying disc". It is commonly used to refer to unidentified flying objects (UFOs). Its nickname, "Disco Volante", comes from its unusual, wide and ultra-thin case with minimal or hidden lugs, giving it a smooth, UFO-like profile.
The contributions of Gerald Genta and Gebhard Duve reflect a period where Audemars Piguet quietly pushed design boundaries.
