Eskil Sundahl received a post-secondary education including art history and a solid education in architecture at the Royal Institute of Technology, KTH, in Stockholm. Sundahl interned with Isak Gustaf Clason and Erik Lallerstedt before starting his own architectural office in 1916. He became the head of the Cooperative Union's Architectural and Engineering Office between 1924 and 1938. Sundahl was a professor of building construction at KTH from 1936 to 1957. Under Eskil Sundahl's leadership, KF became Sweden's largest architectural office with 70 employees. Sundahl set the tone for the design of all the cooperative's buildings. Sundahl was also involved in formulating the manifesto "Acceptera" in 1931, which advocated for functionalism, published in conjunction with the Stockholm Exhibition in 1930.
