An 18K gold tie pin/brooch by Wiwen Nilsson set with a square step-cut rock crystal, Lund 1961

The rock crystal measures 7.8x7.8x5.9 mm, the setting measures 12.7x8.2x6.8 mm, the length of the tie pin is 5.5 cm, total weight approximately 7.5 grams.

Minor scratches on the gold. The rock crystal with a larger chip.

More about Wiwen Nilsson

Wiwen Nilsson was a Swedish designer born in Copenhagen. He studied at his father's workshop, as well as in Germany, Denmark, and France. Nilsson is primarily known for his objects created in silver with geometric, clean, and austere forms. Nilsson debuted at the Gothenburg Exhibition in 1923. At the Stockholm Exhibition in 1930, he had his major breakthrough, and his innovative modernism was a success. Nilsson created, among other things, jewellery, table silver, and services.
