Hanna Sjöstrand was born in Karlskoga and educated at the Malmö Art Academy. She has been living in Oslo for several years. Sjöstrand's painting is used as a tool to explore questions about who the person is, from where she views, how she relates to violence, and her relationship with nature. She has held solo exhibitions at Galleri Wallner (2020), Galleri Gerlesborg (2018), LNM Oslo (2018), and Elastic Gallery, Stockholm (2018). She has also participated in group exhibitions at KOHTA (2021), Martin Bryder Gallery (2020), Galleri Thomas Wallner (2020), and LNM Oslo (2019). Sjöstrand is represented at the Agüeli Museum, the National Public Art Council Sweden, the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg, Malmö Art Museum, KORO, the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences, Region Stockholm, and Region Skåne.
