Cyanotype is a historical photographic technique known for its iconic blue tones. The method was invented in the 19th century by an astronomer named John Herschel and was extensively used by his neighbour, Anna Atkins, who was a botanist. Atkins published the first book ever to contain photographic illustrations. The subjects are developed by utilising the sun's rays on light-sensitive paper. Here, the artist has used an older photograph/glass negative in the development process.
