Elisabeth Garouste (born 1946 in Paris) is a French designer and interior architect. She studied at École Camondo and is known for her imaginative and often playful forms inspired by art, literature, and mythology.
Mattia Bonetti (born 1952 in Lugano, Switzerland) is a Swiss designer who began his career in textiles and photography before transitioning to furniture and object design.
Together, they founded the studio Garouste & Bonetti in Paris in 1981. Their work is characterised by sculptural forms, craftsmanship, and a blend of historical references and modern design. The style has been referred to as "Barbarian style."
